Art Neighbourhood

Art Neighbourhood is a cultural neighbourhood in the heart of the city in an erstwhile industrial oasis dubbed “Benčić” by the local populace. The complex dates back to the 18th century. Located in the ART NEIGHBOURHOOD are the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the City Museum of Rijeka, the City Library and the “Children’s House”.

The old town

Experience the mysterious side of Rijeka, the one telling a story from times immemorial, the story about the old Romans who moved the Palaeolithic and Neolithic Rijeka from the edges of the today’s city closer to the sea, which means that from the main Rijeka’s promenade – Korzo you step into the passage under the city tower leading to the “old Rijeka”. It is enough to pass through only a few metres long “small tunnel” to step into Rijeka’s history so nicely incorporated in the present.

Trsat

Whilst in Rijeka, Trsat is a must-see place – a part of the city situated on a hill above Rijeka that offers a spectacular view of the entire Kvarner. Mentioned for the first time in 799, Trsat is an ideal place for a walk, for having a coffee and sightseeing. Particularly the Trsat Castle which dates back to the prehistoric times when it was just a watchtower. Its present appearance is the merit of its last owner, Count Laval Nugent, who bought it in the first half of the 19^th century, renovating it into a family mausoleum.

Opatija

Opatija, a charming coastal town with a rich history and culture, has many fantastic locations, impressive monuments, well-manicured parks and magnificent villas that are waiting to be discovered. Enjoy discovering the enchanting town of Opatija with its churches, villas and well-tended parks. Visit the Croatian Walk of Fame and the small harbour known locally as Portić, and take a picture with the famous statue of the Girl with the Seagull.

Lovran

Lovran has been attracting travellers for houndreds of years, captivating them with the scenic beauty that makes it hard to leave this seashore. The oldest settlement on the Opatija Riviera dates back to the 1st century BC, when – according to tradition – the Roman patrician, statesman, general and cartographer Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa chose this place as his residence.

Island of Krk

The Island of Krk is a diverse island that offers variety of attractions and experiences, whether you like the culture, the nature or the upbeat tourist places: a thousand years old towns, small rural villages, well equipped city beaches, secluded swimming bays, lively bars and clubs and small and quiet restaurants and caffe bars. The Učka Nature Park is located along the coast of the northern Adriatic at one of the northernmost points of the Mediterranean, connecting Istria and the continental part of Croatia. Učka attracts many tourists with its beauty, to whom this oasis of greenery and peace offered an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Precisely because of its proximity to the city centers, Učka has always been a favorite picnic spot and destination for numerous mountaineers and nature lovers.
